Three persons, including two prison escapees, have been shot and killed by police during a shootout at Better Hope South on the East Coast of Demerara Monday night. Those killed are 25-year old Imran Ramsaywack and Ryan Jones, who escaped from the Mazaruni prison on February 16, 2021.
A female accomplice was also shot and killed – she is yet to be identified. On December 18, 2019, Ramsaywack called Kevin Jones, Coolie Boy or Ramsa, of Berbice, was found guilty by a 12-member jury for the murder of Samantha Benjamin between March 25, 2015, and March 26, 2015, at Buxton, East Coast Demerara.
