Receiving their honorary degree from the University of Guyana were
musician Eddy Grant, Businessman Yesu Persaud, Amerindian Rights
Activist Laura George and philanthropist Jay Sobhraj.
During the first ceremony of UG’s 52nd Convocation, Mr. Grant was
conferred for excellence in music and civic engagement.
He told the class of 2018, that as a nation, we must desist from racial
discrimination.
