World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year with this year’s theme being
‘Know your status’. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against
HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have
died from an AIDS-related illness.
At the end of 2017 the UNAIDS had average a total of 8000 Adults in Guyana were
documented to be living with HIV in Guyana, UNAIDS country director to Guyana and
Suriname Martin Odiit share his organizations plans for the fight against HIV/AIDS
within the upcoming years.
