UNION, CIVIL SOCIETY DEMAND PRIVATE SECTOR MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE TO 120,000 SAYS MORE PROTEST ACTION IF DEMANDS ARE NOT MET

The General Workers Union demands a minimum wage of $120,000 for private-sector workers who are still earning as low as $44 200 per month. The representative body questions the cabinet’s apparent reluctance to approve the initial increase to $60,000 and has threatened to intensify protest actions if its demands are not met soon.
