US TO WORK WITH GUYANA TO DEVELOP SECURITY INTELLIGENCE TO MONITOR ILLEGAL ENTRIES AND HARMFUL IMMIGRANTS

By Antonio Dey | HGPTV Newsroom

During his recent visit to Guyana, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio committed to establishing a joint security intelligence and surveillance system aimed at enhancing border security and addressing threats from illegal entries and potentially harmful immigrants.

Secretary Rubio emphasized that this partnership would enable both countries to effectively monitor migration trends, combat illegal activities, and strengthen overall security within the region. The proposed system will involve robust data-sharing, intelligence collaboration, and advanced surveillance technologies to identify and intercept threats at points of entry.

Rubio stated:

“We are committed to partnering closely with Guyana to improve surveillance, share intelligence, and ensure harmful individuals do not threaten the security of either nation.”

Guyanese officials welcomed this pledge, highlighting it as a critical step towards strengthening national security and improving the management of migration flows. This announcement comes amid increasing regional concerns about cross-border crime, smuggling operations, and unregulated migration.
