A brand-new, state-of-the-art Faculty of Health Sciences Building, valued at US$4.576 million, was officially commissioned on Tuesday, marking a major milestone in the advancement of medical education and healthcare training in Guyana.
The ultra-modern facility is equipped with cutting-edge laboratories, lecture halls, simulation rooms, and technology-enabled classrooms—all designed to enhance the learning experience for medical and health sciences students.
Government officials, university representatives, and stakeholders from the healthcare sector were present for the opening ceremony, where it was emphasized that the new faculty building will play a crucial role in boosting the country’s human resource capacity in the health sector.
“This investment reflects our commitment to producing world-class healthcare professionals right here in Guyana,” one official remarked.
The facility is expected to support a new generation of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, trained to meet both local and international standards.
