V.P SUGGESTS GIVING PARENTS $700,000 FOR TUITION, EVIDENCE GOV’T HAS ADEQUATE RESOURCES TO PAY TEACHERS LIVABLE WAGE – GTU

Last week, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo proposed that nearly one million dollars could be distributed to parents to determine their children’s educational path rather than increasing teachers’ salaries to a livable wage. President of the Guyana Teachers Union, Mark Lyte, pointed out that this proposal indicates the government has sufficient funds to pay teachers a livable wage.
