Police in Regional Division #1 are currently searching for a known male who has gone into hiding after allegedly killing forty-three-year-old Venezuelan National Rafael Antonio Aquino Soto between the 10th and 11th of February, 2022, at Return Baramita, North West District.
Investigations revealed that the suspect and Rafael, who are not known to each other, were at a shop at Return Baramita, NWD, drinking alcohol about 16:00 hours on February 10. It is said that the now dead man convinced a female to go with him instead of with the suspect. When she did, the suspect allegedly became annoyed and a heated argument ensued.
The suspect then pulled out a knife from the waist of his pants and dealt the victim one stab to his chest and made good his escape.
A medex visited the scene and pronounced Rafael dead. His body was transported to the Port Kaituma mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.
The suspect is not yet arrested as police continue their search.
