Woman brutally stabbed to death by ex-lover

man killed woman allegedly after hearing ‘male voice’ during telephone call

A 24-year-old female is now dead after he ex-lover allegedly stabbed her to death when the young woman answered her telephone and he heard a male’s voice at the other end of the line.

Dead is Lunisa Peters of Lot 97 Supenaam Public Road and formally of Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast. She is said to have been brutally murdered last night (Wednesday) around 23:30h.

Reports are that the now dead woman and the suspect had shared a common-law relationship and separated at some point. This is when Peters moved from the address they shared and relocated to her aunt’s house at the Supenaam village, Essequibo Coast.  

According to the police, last night, the murder suspect visited the home where Peters was now living in and was invited into the house. He and his ex-lover sat in a chair and while sitting together, Peters’ cellular phone rang, so she quickly answered the call.

However, the suspect allegedly realized that it was a male calling Peters and he became very angry about the situation. He reportedly snatched her by her hair and dragged her into the kitchen where he grabbed a knife, took her to the bathroom, then dealt her several stabs about her head and body.

Peters’ aunt, having heard the commotion, raised an alarm after which the suspect ran out the house and made good his escape on foot. 

Police ranks who were summoned confirmed that there were several stab wounds about the young woman’s head and body and a knife along with a rolling pin suspected to be covered in blood were also observed at the crime scene.

Peters was then escorted to the Suddie Public Hopsital where she was pronounced  dead. Her body was then escorted to the Suddie Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a Post Mortem Examination. 

Meanwhile, the police have been able to apprehend the suspect and he is currently in police custody.

Investigations are ongoing.
