A 24-year-old man who allegedly slapped a woman several times while they had been consuming alcoholic beverages is now nursing multiple chop wounds about his body after the female retaliated and attacked him with a cutlass.
The injured man has been identified as Deon Henry, a miner of Logg Hill Village, Baramita. North West District(N.W.D), Region One (Barima- Waini).
HGP Nightly News understands that the incident took place on Wednesday evening around 19:15h in the Logg Hill Village.
Reports are that Henry and the female were imbibing when an argument ensued and quickly became physical. Henry is said to have dealt the woman several slaps to her face and this resulted in the woman arming herself with a cutlass. She then fired several chops about Henry’s body.
According to the cops, Henry then returned to his home and told his family what had transpired between himself and the woman.
“They contacted a motor cycle and took him to the Baramita Health Centre where he was treated and sent away. Investigations are ongoing,” a police statement said.
