A 44-year-old self-employed man of Belvedere North, Corentyne Berbice, was allegedly robbed of $5.5 million by two men, one armed with a gun on Thursday.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the incident occurred at about 17:45h.
At the time of the alleged robbery, the victim had just arrived at his Belvedere, Corentyne home in his motor canter GAC 1261.
He had the $5.5M cash in a bag on the passenger seat when the two bandits approached him on a red and white XR motorcycle.
The robbers pointed a gun at the man and demanded that he hand over the bag.
After receiving the bag, the bandits made good their escape.No one was injured, but the Investigation is ongoing.
