FIBER OPTIC INFRASTRUCTURE RESUSCITATED IN LETHEM

The fiber optic infrastructure project that was started in 2012 and abandoned in 2014 by the Donald Ramotar’s administration, has been resuscitated to provide e-Government services in the Lethem area and its environs. The Ministry of Public Telecommunications, has upgraded one of the three communication towers in Lethem, and internet connectivity is now available to government entities in the neighborhood, with expansion scheduled to be rolled out to the larger Rupununi area.
