Mervyn Williams sounds alarmed about possible corruption at Min of Amerindian Affairs.

According to Mervyn Williams, an executive member of the APNU/AFC (A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change), a senior official at the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs has been involved in soliciting money from hinterland residents who require medical evacuation services. This is despite the fact that the government should provide medical evacuation services free of charge.

The allegations raise serious concerns about potential corruption and exploitation of vulnerable residents who may not be aware of their rights to receive free medical evacuation services. If true, such actions would undermine the government’s commitment to providing essential healthcare services to all citizens, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.
