OPPOSITION ROASTS GOVT’S DRAFT PETROLEUM ACTIVITIES BILL

According to Renata Burntte’s report, the A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) Opposition has expressed concerns regarding the draft Petroleum Activities Bill. The opposition believes that the bill fails to address several important issues that have emerged in the past few years, posing significant risks to Guyana’s growing oil and gas industry.

The APNU/AFC Opposition has highlighted that the draft bill has not adequately addressed certain critical aspects related to the sector. These unresolved issues raise concerns about transparency, accountability, and environmental safeguards, which are essential for the sustainable development of the oil and gas sector.
