When 18-year-old Tonika Calder remigrated to Guyana from Trinidad and Tobago two years ago, she had high hopes of becoming a Coast Guard-. On November 11 this year, she took her life. The myriad
of occurrences leading up to her untimely demise has been exhausted in the media. Now, Tonika’s relatives want it to be known that she was much more than a suicide statistic.
