COURT OF APPEAL REDUCES LIFE SENTENCE OF GROVE MAN TO NINE YEARS

The Court of Appeal has sided with a 37-year-old man from Grove, East Bank Demerara, Andy Boodram, also known as “Boy,” in his appeal against the life imprisonment sentence imposed on him for a chopping incident in 2018.

The Court of Appeal found the initial life imprisonment sentence to be “manifestly excessive,” leading to a decision to reduce it. As a result, Andy Boodram’s sentence has been reduced to nine years. It’s important to note that this reduction also considers the time he has served behind bars—more from Tiana Cole in the following report.
