Man chopped to hand, jaw by brother during drinking spree

A 24-year-old man is now hospitalised with a chop to his left jaw and left hand after he intervened in a brawl between his brother and another man during which his sibling allegedly attacked and injured him.

The injured man has been identified as Gavin Daniels, an Operator, of Airstrip, Matthew’s Ridge, North West District (NWD), Region One (Barima-Waini.)

According to a statement from the cops, Daniels was reportedly wounded by his brother after they participated in an “imbibing session” at Sailor Shop, Orange Walk, in Matthews Ridge.

“The victim alleges that he intervened as a peacemaker between his brother and an identifiable male when his brother dealt him a chop to his left jaw and left hand. The suspect has fled the scene for an unknown location. Daniels was taken to the Pakera District Hospital by relatives where he was seen and admitted a patient in a stable condition.”

An investigation is ongoing.
